Frequently Asked Questions
If you're wondering...
Why is the pillow shaped like an L?
The two-chambered L-shape isn’t just a bold design, it’s purposeful.
Our patented design uses a natural fulcrum effect: as your head rests on the upper chamber, it helps subtly lift the lower chamber to discourage back sleeping and maintain proper side-sleep alignment.
The shape supports your neck, spine, and airway helping reduce snoring and pressure-related discomfort.
Why side sleeping?
We’re big believers in positional therapy, and side sleeping is one of the most beneficial positions for spinal alignment and airway support. It can reduce snoring, ease neck and shoulder tension, and improve overall sleep quality.
Our pillow helps you stay on your side, comfortably, even if you tend to roll.
Why did you make a down version?
Down is natural, sustainable, and incredibly effective. Down gives us the ability precision fill our dual-chamber design with blends of down, merino wool and feathers to give you softness at the head and gentle support at the back.
The merino wool blend helps regulate temperature, while the feather/down blend adds loft and structure. All crafted to cradle you in comfort.
How long does it take to get used to the pillow?
Like any good sleep shift, there’s often an adjustment period. We recommend giving it 7–10 nights, though many customers know within a couple days if it’s “the one.”
As sleep experts, we usually suggest two weeks for full adaptation. Stick with it, your spine (and mornings) will thank you.
What should I do when I receive my pillow?
Remove your compressed pillow from the bag and give it a few hours to fully bloom to its natural shape. Then, unzip the removable cover and toss it, along with the included pillowcase, in the wash for that fresh-first-night feel.
Pro tip: Give your pillow a good fluff before bedtime.
Can I use this pillow if I sleep on my back or stomach?
We designed OpenAir to help discourage back sleeping, which can worsen snoring and spinal compression. While it’s not ideal for stomach sleepers, some people do find it comfortable depending on body type and sleep habits.
Full transparency - transitioning from stomach sleeping to side sleeping will take some effort but the long-term benefits are worth it.
Can I travel with it or use it in different bed sizes?
Absolutely. The foam pillow compresses nicely and fits well in any bed size, from twin to king. Many of our customers take it on road trips, camping adventures, RVs, or hotel stays.
Bonus tip: we love packing it in an Osprey 32L compression bag — three straps make it easy to pack and go.
The down pillow requires fluffing after compression and normal use. 10-15 minutes in the dryer on low heat is perfect. Or fluff it the old school way with your hands.
